Donna is a visual artist and aspiring curator based in Glasgow, soon to graduate from the Glasgow School of Art and set to begin her Master’s degree in Art Curating at the Royal College of Art in London. As the creative lead of Dou Dou Art and the person who built this website, she brings together her deep passion for art, children’s mental health, and art education. She has hands-on experience running an Hong Kong art studio for children, where she designs and delivers creative workshops that nurture emotional expression, confidence, and imagination. Her artistic practice is grounded in pointillism and symbolic abstraction, using intricate dot patterns, soft gradients, and vibrant colors to explore themes of emotional healing, memory, and connection. Across her work, recurring motifs such as open hands, joyful elder figures, and spiritual forms evoke care, comfort, and generational wisdom. Her research centers on how visual art can support children’s emotional well-being—particularly through repetition, color symbolism, and pattern as a meditative process. Drawing inspiration from Eastern philosophy and contemporary art therapy, Donna creates spaces that promote empathy, safety, and belonging. Whether through painting, teaching, or curating, her mission is to offer art as a gentle, powerful tool for expression and emotional growth. This website is both an extension of that vision and a space lovingly built to share it.
